FEBRUARY PTO UPDATES
February 21, 2024
Hello Grant Ragan!
We hope you are all having a great start to your year! We are getting back into providing for our GR staff after the new year. Thank you to all who participated in the Science and Art Fair or helped donate for the teacher snack last week. We have some more opportunities to support your PTO coming up and have details below!
B-Bops Supports Grant Ragan on Thursday!
Stop by B-Bops on February 22nd between 4pm and 8pm and mention your supporting Grant Ragan. B-Bops will donate a percentage of sales back to Grant Ragan! 855 Hickman Rd
Conference Meals Donations Needed
The PTO will be providing dinner, a snack and a coffee bar during conference week. Dinner will be catered by Fresh Mediterranean, Snack will be Chick Fil A nuggets and salad, and breakfast will be a coffee bar since it's the same day as the snack. The PTO is covering the cost of Fresh and Chick Fil A and we would love your donations to help with the salad, desserts and coffee bar items. Please sign up and have all items to school by Monday, March 4th.
Cookies at Conferences!
Want a fun way to reward your student for a great conference? Stop by the office as the PTO will be selling Cookies from Cookies & Dreams in Ankeny. We will have their OG Chocolate Chip, Space Brownie and Snickerdoodle Cheesecake cookie. These massive cookies will be $5 each and a portion of the sale will go back to your Grant Ragan PTO. Initial quantities for Saturday are limited but we will reorder and restock for the rest of the week if needed!
Hours are:
Saturday 3/2 from 8am-12pm
Monday 3/4 from 4-6pm
Tuesday 3/5 from 4-8pm
Wednesday 3/6 from 4-6pm
Apparel Sale Coming
The Spring Grant Ragan Apparel Sale is coming soon! The webstore will officially open on Monday, March 4th. The sale will offer the latest designs in Grant Ragan and Northwest spirit wear and every purchase will support the Grant Ragan PTO. Make sure to mark your calendars so you don’t miss out on these fun designs.
Papa Murphy’s Gives back to Grant Ragan
Want an easy dinner? Order from Papa Murphys on Tuesdays or Wednesdays throughout the school year and used code GRPTO20 and $2 from your order will go back to the PTO
We need Nominations for Wauk The Talk
Wauk The Talk gives families and staff of Grant Ragan the chance to recognize the great staff of Grant Ragan for going above and beyond. Nominations are collected monthly and will be put into a drawing – the winner will receive a gift card and be recognized in upcoming newsletters and on Facebook! Please fill out the Wauk the Talk form to nominate a GR staff member.
Grade Level Facebook Pages
If you are a facebook user, please consider joining the pages dedicated to your children's grade levels - and of course like our facebook page! These will stay the same through their time at GR. Post any photos you have, use it to talk about what teachers you get in the coming years, etc. Our yearbook crew is part of these groups and will use them for additional photos to include in the yearbook!
Teacher Wish Lists
All teachers and staff were asked to create an Amazon Wish List and you can find those on our website. The items will ship directly to the teacher to bring to their classroom!
Boxtops for Education
The Box Tops mobile app replaces cutting the box top off the items purchased. All you need to do is download the box tops app, Select Grant Ragan and scan your receipt within two weeks of purchase. Order online, no issue, the app will tell you where to forward your e-receipt!

NOVEMBER PTO UPDATE
November 10, 2023
Hello Grant Ragan Families!
The school year is off to a great start and the PTO has loved seeing our Grant Ragan families at our events! We have a few more fun events before the end of the year and hope to see you there too! We are not having a November meeting, but this email has all of the information we would have covered. If you want to see minutes from previous meetings - you can always find that information here! Thank you in advance for all of your support throughout this upcoming school year!
Book Fair Opens Tomorrow
Our only Grant Ragan book fair opens tomorrow, Saturday, November 11th. Stop by and help support our library as all funds raised go straight back to our library! There are teacher wish boxes in the library as well if you want to help support your classroom library! Hope to see you there!

Tropical Smoothie Cafe Supports Grant Ragan
Stop by Tropical Smoothie Cafe (426 Hickman Rd, Waukee, IA 50263)on December 6th between 2pm and 7pm and a portion of 20% of the night's proceeds will go to the Grant Ragan PTO!
Grant Ragan Night at the Iowa Wild
The Iowa Wild will donate $5 of every ticket for their game on January 6th back to the Grant Ragan PTO if purchased through this link - https://fevo.me/3LnTlgF. The game is at 6pm and the Iowa Wild are taking on the Grand Rapids Griffins and it’s Beckman Bobble Head Night for the first 1,500 fans in the building.
We Want your Photos for the Yearbook!
Kids love to see themselves in the Yearbook, please submit photos you have from school events on our Yearbook Facebook Page for them to possibly be used in the yearbook!

SEPTEMBER PTO UPDATE

Hello Grant Ragan Families!
We are so excited for this school year and can’t wait for our fun events to begin. You will generally receive a PTO update email on a Friday opposite of the GR Gazette after our monthly meetings. While the email won’t cover the content of our meetings - you can always find that information here! This monthly email will keep you in the know on all of our PTO upcoming events and where we need your help! Thank you in advance for all of your support throughout this upcoming school year!
Join us at our First Grant Ragan Tailgate!
Join us for hot dogs, snacks and live music from KRACKLIN! The playground will be open for the kids to play, they can dance or bring their favorite football or soccer ball to kick or throw around! Hope to see you there to enjoy a free and fun night for Grant Ragan Families! This event in Bring Your Own Beverage, please do not bring alcohol since it is on school grounds. Please RSVP here so we can ensure we have enough food!
Whalburgers Supports Grant Ragan
Stop by Wahlburgers in Hy Vee on September 18th from 4pm to 8pm and mention Grant Ragan. A portion of sales will be donated back to the PTO.
