1. Welcome
2. Principal’s Report – Matt Robie
- 618 Students at GR. 19 are switching.
- No switching of teachers from online to in person or vice versa.
- 2021 Best Public Elementary School in DM – Ranked #1
- 9 out of 638 in the state of Iowa
- Staff has been working on Equity across the district.
- GR is going to have a meetings with a group of teachers and parents.
- COVID notifications will start coming on Fridays.
- Currently at 2 close contact cases that haven’t returned to school since break.
- Board will try to just shut down individual classrooms instead of whole schools.
3. Committee Reports
Treasurer’s Report – Books are open if you have any questions. Have brought in around $7,400 YTD which includes sponsors for a potential fun run.
Yearbook – Trying to get photos for the yearbook. Made hearts and had kids write what they are thankful for and will spread them throughout the yearbook. All hearts will be in the yearbook. Teachers have been emailing photos to be included. If you get class photos from the teachers via social media, please ask them to send the original to the PTO so we can get them included.
Apparel Sales (Snow Gear Bags) – We had a total of 95 bags and all have been claimed. Made about $700
Restaurant Nights – Chipotle is in January. Looking to add Z’Mariks and having Totally Rolled back in the Spring
Conference Meals – Had wraps, bags of chips and pop for the meal and a create your own trail mix with individual bags of items for teachers to make their own.
Book Fair – Our Fall online bookfair brought in about $1000 in sales. Will be switching to Follett for next fall.
Fundraising– Looking at April to do something, will probably be virtual.
Box Tops – Angel will look into what is needed to submit. Will be promoting online submission.
Staff Appreciation – Looking to do a February gift. Last year was a coffee bar and pastries. Open to other ideas.
